Every week we organize a social dance party on Wednesdays in Café Prostoru_. You can come to dance, to have a drink at the bar, to meet people from lessons or to meet a few of the teachers from Swing Busters. Everything is accompanied by great swing music – we have a DJ and sometimes live music! The party starts at 8 pm and goes until midnight. (In the summer holidays it is 7:30 pm – 10 pm outside, from 10 pm inside.). Admission is free, but we recommend to put something to DJ or the band playing. You can pay by cash or QR codes. During the school year, you can visit our Open Class just before the party starts (at 6:45 pm). Once a month we now hold our Friday Jams in Unitaria – a bigger party with an interesting talk about swing related themes, live band and even Mamas Papas family parties beforehand.

In swing dancing, it doesn’t matter if you are a lady or a gent, we don’t wait to be asked for a dance, it is in your own hands as it is to say no, if you don’t wish to dance anymore or with someone. How to behave at socials and classes is nicely put together below in the Swing etiquette.

Swing Practice is a space for your next workout – you can train anything (ideally swing – Lindy hop, Charleston, Balboa, Solo Jazz, Shag, etc.). Practice whatever you can/want – what you’ve been discussing in the lessons, what you have seen on YouTube, basically anything you are interested in. There is always a teacher on the spot, so feel free to ask for help. This is a space for your improvement! Irregular Friday practice sessions are at 6.15–8.15 pm at Zkušebna ABC and cost CZK 100. Regular Tuesday practice is at 7.25–8.25 pm and costs CZK 50.
Guided Practice is a special edition of Friday practice, another opportunity to polish your dance style and technique. During the first hour the teachers give you exercises to improve a specific aspect of the dance, which you can practice on your own in the remaining time of the night. Guided practice costs CZK 250.
You can also use any practice session to substitute a missed class.

Don’t have time for regular lessons? Feel like trying it first without committing to a 9 week course? Do you want to substitute a missed regular class? Great, then you can come to our drop in Open classes! You can choose from two different ones, for the same price of 250 CZK/class. You don’t have to register, simply show up.
The Swing Basics Open class is the best way to taste swing. It happens every Wednesday at Café Prostoru at NTK from 6.45-7.45 pm. (Not during summer months of July and August.) You can come with a partner or alone. Every week we introduce you to a different set of basics, so everybody can drop in, it is always new! There is a swing dance party at the same place right after the class where you can put all in practice, what an evening!
For the more experienced dancer, we have weekly TUESDAY Lindy hop Int+ Open class at Centrum Fuzhi, 7.25-8.25 pm. If you want to push yourself a bit, substitute a missed regular class in our studio or simply want to have fun exploring swing dance further with Fred and Jíťa, this is for you!
