Would you like to learn how to dance but you’re not sure what to sign up for?<\/p>\n

Let’s go through the styles together, you’ll see what sounds good to you.

\nAnd which teaching couple would you click with?<\/p>\n

Lindy hop<\/h4>\n

This is probably what you imagine as swing dancing. Lindy hop is the most common style of swing, everyone you meet at a social will know it. Partly because of that it’s unbelievably rich and broad, so you can dance it to pretty much any tempo and you’ll see countless variations of it on the dancefloor. In this course you’ll go through the basics, so that you can hit the dancefloor and dance with anyone to (almost) anything.
\nIn the spring term we’re offering three classes:<\/p>\n

Monday 8.35 pm with Ani\u010dka and Adam<\/a>
\nIf there’s two people who like to think about dancing, it’s them; but on the dancefloor they turn of their brains and turn on their ears. They lead their students toward paying attention to the music too and also let them peek into history and the culture the dance comes from. All the while not taking themselves seriously ever. This course will be taught in English.<\/p>\n

Tuesday 6.15 pm with \u0160\u00e1rka and Michal<\/a>
\nThese two had been dancing Lindy hop long before most of us knew it existed. Their classes are not only fun but you can bet they’ll explain all the technique properly because that’s something they like to geek out about. They teach in Czech but can translate key points for you if necessary.<\/p>\n

Tuesday 8.35 pm with Zuzka and Martin<\/a>
\nA well matched teaching couple. They teach together, practise together, perform together. Their dancing is creative, they keep looking for new ways to pass on their experience and they like a challenge. Their classes are a perfect balance of moves and improvisation. In their course you’ll learn how to dance in both roles, which is common for experienced dancers.<\/p>\n

Shag<\/h4>\n

Tuesday 7.25 pm with Zuzka and Martin<\/a>
\nThis course is there for anyone who wants to sweat, flood their brain with endorphins and handle high tempos at the party. You’ll learn the basics of Collegiate Shag and St. Louis Shag, two faster swing dances that often get danced together. The basic step of each is different but what they have in common is quick tempo, addictive joy and some of the same moves.
\nZuzka and Martin are great shagsters with a lot of teaching experience. You can look forward to just the right amount of improvisation, technique, style and humour.<\/p>\n

Blues<\/h4>\n

Tuesday 6.45 pm with K\u00e1\u0165a and Adam<\/a>
\nWho doesn’t want to slow down in today’s world? Blues will let you \u2013 not just with slow music but also through connecting to your partner and yourself. Blues is the only dance we teach that’s not danced to swing, it’s danced to (closely related) blues music. And just like swing dance styles, there’s a bunch of different types of blues dancing. In this course you’ll map the blues world and explore in greater detail the elegant style of Ballroomin’ Blues.
\nK\u00e1\u0165a and Adam are meticulous teachers who pay attention to their students, can explain everything properly and aren’t afraid to laugh at themselves.<\/p>\n

Solo jazz<\/h4>\n

Wednesday 6.15 pm with Viky and Niky<\/a>
\nSolo dancing is the basis of any dance movement. Whether you want to party solo or you’d like to push your couple dancing skills, this course is for you. All jazz dances are after all mostly an expression of oneself and the music. This course will teach you how to stand on your own two feet and share your ideas with others without having to hold hands.
\nNiky and Viky are passionate solo dancers who understand body movement and like to pass on their knowledge and the joy they get from dancing. Their classes will always be fun!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
