What’s at the beginning of any dance? Music! Music gives us the tempo, rhythm, mood, inspiration… and most of all, fun! Just listen 🙂 In Listening Sessions we listen and analyse swing music.
In our second session we’ll focus on a few swing musicians and their characteristic sound. We’ll discover how the recordings of different musicians can be different and talk about what to focus on to recognise them. We’ll also touch on why it can be useful in social dancing to know whose song we’re dancing to. At the same time we’ll find out a little something about the musicians themselves..
This session is open to everyone, you don’t need any experience with listening to swing music and you don’t need to have been at the first session. It’s also open to anyone who wants to listen to details in the music or test their skill in recognising recordings.
Note: You can leave dancing shoes at home.
